Life to the Full

Principles of Health and Growth.

At Fordelm, our work is shaped by a set of core principles about people, relationships, leadership, and growth. These principles influence how we coach, facilitate, and walk alongside individuals, churches, nonprofits, and communities.

Principle 1

Healthy Things Grow

One of the foundational ideas behind Fordelm is simple: Healthy things grow.

Growth cannot usually be forced. In living systems — whether individuals, teams, churches, or communities — sustainable growth tends to emerge naturally when healthy conditions are present.

Rather than focusing only on outcomes, we pay attention to the underlying conditions that support life, energy, trust, purpose, and resilience.

Principle 2

Growth Begins with Health

Lasting growth is difficult to sustain without underlying health.

Health includes things like:

  • Trust and healthy relationships
  • Clarity of purpose
  • Shared leadership
  • Spiritual and emotional well-being
  • Healthy communication
  • Alignment between values and practice
  • The ability to learn, adapt, and renew.

Principle 3

People Are Designed with Purpose

Every person carries gifts, strengths, experiences, and possibilities that matter.

Part of healthy growth involves discovering how people are uniquely shaped and how those gifts can contribute meaningfully within families, teams, churches, organizations, and communities.

Rather than trying to force people into narrow models of success or leadership, we seek to help people grow in ways that are authentic, life-giving, and sustainable.

Principle 4

Relationships Shape Everything

Relationships are central to a healthy life and healthy organizations.

Trust, communication, belonging, accountability, and mutual care all shape the ability of people and communities to flourish. When relationships weaken, growth often becomes more difficult. When relationships strengthen, new possibilities often emerge.

This is why listening, dialogue, collaboration, and restorative practices are woven throughout Fordelm’s work.

Principle 5

Growth Is Both Personal and Collective

Transformation is rarely only individual. What changes in one person rarely stops there.

Personal growth affects families, teams, churches, and organizations. In the same way, communities and organizations shape the people within them.

Healthy growth therefore involves paying attention to both individual formation and collective culture — helping people and systems move toward greater wholeness together.

Principle 6

Leadership Is About Cultivating Health

Leadership is not simply about control, expertise, or authority.

Healthy leadership creates environments where people can contribute, grow, collaborate, and flourish together. It helps cultivate clarity, trust, alignment, and shared ownership.

At Fordelm, we are especially interested in forms of leadership that are empowering, relational, reflective, and grounded in service.

Principle 7

Wholeness Matters

At the heart of Fordelm’s work is the belief that people and communities are capable of moving toward greater wholeness.

This includes spiritual, relational, emotional, organizational, and communal dimensions of life. While growth is rarely linear or complete, we believe healthier ways of being and living together are always possible.

Our work is ultimately about helping individuals and organizations cultivate the conditions where that kind of growth can emerge.

NCD and the 8 Quality Characteristics

Natural Church Development identified eight quality characteristics found consistently in healthy, growing churches. This short video introduces the framework and why these eight areas form the foundation of how Fordelm approaches church health.

The Trinitarian Compass

At the heart of Natural Church Development is a simple conviction: that spiritual health begins with a balanced relationship with God. The Trinitarian Compass puts that into a visual framework.
